This study aimed to evaluate whether serum levels of interleukin-6 (IL-6) can predict the clinical response to biologic therapy after 12 months of treatment in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). This was a prospective cohort study included 41 consecutive patients with IBD (23 ulcerative colitis, 18 Crohn’s disease) who were eligible for biologic therapy. Serum IL-6 levels were measured prior to initiating biologic treatment (T0) and after 10 weeks of therapy (T1). Clinical response after 12 months of treatment was defined as a reduction of ≥3 points in the Harvey–Bradshaw In
This study applied a network pharmacology approach to elucidate the mechanisms underlying the therapeutic effects of Atragene sibirica L., Ranunculus repens L., and Pulsatilla bungeana C.A. Mey. in the treatment of gastric cancer (GC). In traditional Mongolian medical literature, these three Ranunculaceae species are collectively referred to as the “Hot-Natured Three Herbs” (HN3h-s). Active ingredients were screened using Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology Database (TCMSP), followed by target retrieval from GeneCards, and DrugBank. “Protein–protein interaction” (PPI) n
Research on the relationship between blood groups and dental caries has produced conflicting results. This study aimed to investigate the potential association between the ABO and Rh blood group systems and susceptibility to dental caries and gingivitis in children during the mixed dentition stage in Lattakia City. The population of this study was comprised 200 children aged 6 to 10 years. A single laboratory technician analyzed non-fasting venous blood samples to determine blood groups. The Decayed, Missing, and Filled Teeth Index (DMFT/dmft) was assessed in accordance with World Health Organ
This study aimed to evaluate the bonding strength of polyether ether ketone (PEEK) posts and cores to root dentin after various surface treatments: Er:YAG laser (with and without contact), CO₂ laser (without contact), and sandblasting. Thirty-two single-rooted premolars were decoronated and endodontically treated. Custom CAD/CAM PEEK posts and cores were fabricated and divided into four groups (n=8): Group 1 – sandblasted with 50 μm Al₂O₃; Group 2 – Er:YAG laser in contact; Group 3 – Er:YAG laser non-contact; Group 4 – CO₂ laser non-contact. All posts were cemented with dual-c
