A Clinical Study on the Effect of Honey-Enriched Darvu-5 Traditional Mongolian powder on Hypersensitivity and Whooping Coughs After Infection

In traditional Mongolian medicine, the lung is the central organ of the respiratory system, a cough is one of the essential symptoms of respiratory diseases. The study aims to compare the effects of Darvu-5, which is used in Mongolian traditional medicine, its effects on cough caused by respiratory hypersensitivity and post-infection were studied, comparing it with standard treatment. The study was conducted in a randomized controlled clinical trial based on the Mongolian Japanese Hospital and the Central Hospital of the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences. 140 people over the age of 18 were included in the study. Questionnaires were filled out based on the consent of the respondents. Participants were randomly divided into five treatment groups using an open-label method. When the number of coughs before treatment was scored, the frequency of 4 or moderate coughs was higher. The number of coughs after the treatment of the subjects was evaluated by a score of 1, or the number of coughs decreased, and the number of coughs decreased. Before treatment, 54.81% of respondents answered that the daily frequency of cough symptoms was moderate, while after treatment, 97.78% answered that the cough had completely subsided or significantly decreased. In the group with hypersensitivity cough, significantly more clients reported increased cough from cold air, plants, and strong odors than in the group with postinfectious cough (p<0.0001). The cough relief of the Darvu-5 recipe enriched with honey is similar to the standard medicine for people with coughs caused by respiratory hypersensitivity or post-infection.
