Approach to learning is vital for academic achievement in higher education; deep learning approach is associated with better academic grades. Literature about this important issue scarce. We aimed to investigate the learning style among Saudi medical students in Tabuk City. A cross-sectional study was conducted among 246 Medical students in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Tabuk, during the period from March 2023 to April 2023. A structured questionnaire based on demographic factors and the revised Arabic version of the revised study process was distributed to those who agree to participate. Nearly half of the students were deep motive (41.3% versus 33.7%), 40.3% versus 30.4% used deep learning strategy. Although the superficial approach was less common (25.9%), however, the student's strategy was superficial (39.9%). The learning approach showed mixed results among Saudi medical students in Tabuk City. The students were deeper motive and used a deeper strategy; in addition, they used the superficial strategy in learning and less superficially motive. Further larger studies assessing the trajectories and heterogeneity among medical students are needed.
