HEALTH TOURISM IN INDONESIA: A BIBLIOMETRIC ANALYSIS

Health tourism has emerged as a significant trend in today's socio-economic landscape. This phenomenon involves individuals travelling to different countries to seek medical treatment, wellness therapies, or cosmetic procedures that may be more affordable or offer higher quality care than what is available in their home countries. As a result, many travellers are combining their healthcare needs with an opportunity to explore new cultures and environments. This study aims to review research on health tourism in Indonesia. This study used a qualitative and bibliometric approach. The data were analysed using Scopus, VOSviewers, and Nvivo 12 Plus software analysis features. The trend of health tourism publications in Indonesia has significantly increased in the last ten years. Terms such as medical and travel strengthened the network based on keywords. These two words prove essential to Indonesia's health tourism theme theory. Study trends with related articles are emphasised in policymakers, in this case, the government. On the other hand, attitudes toward health and health hazards are unique issues for future studies on health tourism in Indonesia. Over the past ten years, Indonesia has seen extremely substantial changes in the trend of health tourism publications. Decision-makers now emphasise the tendency to study this topic. Attitudes to health and health hazards are two topics that could be novel for future research. Essential topics include tourism, health, data, management, destination, travel, area, and industry.
