THE USE OF THE UTAUT MODEL FOR EVALUATING TECHNOLOGY ADOPTION IN HEALTHCARE SETTINGS: A BIBLIOMETRIC ANALYSIS
The assessment of technology implementation in hospital settings necessitates a comprehensive evaluation to ascertain its acceptability to users. The Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model is a commonly employed tool for gauging technology adoption. This study aims to conduct a systematic review to analyse the application of the UTAUT model in evaluating technology adoption within hospital environments. 89 articles were collected and analysed using the analytical systematic approach. They were gathered between 2014 and 2023 using specific keywords. VOSviewer and Rstudio were used for the analysis. The findings revealed that Germany (13), the United States (10), and China (10) were the top three countries in terms of published articles. VOSviewer identified four cluster themes: performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions, all contributing to the intention to employ technology. Keywords associated with UTAUT included adult, male, female, and middle age. This research summarises the use of the UTAUT method in hospitals. Technology adoption is influenced by performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, and age. These findings set a benchmark for future research and offer promise for technology adoption in healthcare.
